TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions (hereinafter: “Terms”) govern participation in events organised by EDGE 2000 Ltd. (registered office: 1024 Budapest, Keleti Károly u. 9., Hungary; hereinafter: “Organiser”).
The Terms apply to all natural persons who register for an event via the website encounter.hu (hereinafter: “Participant”).

  1. Scope of the Service

The Organiser provides the organisation of events, meetings and gatherings, as well as registration for such events via the encounter.hu website. Detailed information about each event, including its content, date, location, programme and participation fee, is published on the relevant event page.

  1. Conditions of Participation

Participation in an event is subject to the completion of the registration form with accurate and truthful information and the payment of the participation fee. Registration becomes final only upon receipt of the participation fee.
The Organiser shall not be liable for any consequences arising from incorrect or false information provided by the Participant.

  1. Participation Fee and Payment

The participation fee is indicated on the relevant event page and includes value added tax (VAT). The fee covers the costs of the programme but does not include accommodation or meals, unless expressly stated otherwise for a specific event.

Payment of the participation fee may be made via the website by credit card or by bank transfer in advance. In the case of on-site cash payment, the Organiser charges an additional handling fee of HUF 5,000.
An electronic invoice is issued for all payments.

  1. Cancellation and Refunds

The Participant may cancel their participation in writing by email. In the event of cancellation, 50% of the participation fee shall be retained by the Organiser as an administrative fee.
Cancellations made after 1 August are not eligible for a refund.

If the Participant is unable to attend due to force majeure circumstances, including illness or serious personal reasons, they must contact the Organiser without delay. In such cases, the Organiser may, at its sole discretion, allow the Participant’s place to be transferred to another person.

  1. Cancellation of the Event

If the event is cancelled due to circumstances beyond the Organiser’s control, including force majeure, epidemics or official restrictions, the participation fee shall be refunded after deduction of a 5% administrative fee.

  1. Transfer of Participation

The participation fee may be transferable in certain cases. The intention to transfer participation must be communicated to the Organiser in advance, and the Participant is responsible for finding a replacement participant.

The detailed conditions of transfer are determined by the Organiser and may vary depending on the nature of the event and feedback received. Any transfer becomes valid only upon approval by the Organiser.

  1. Discounted Participation Fees

Discounted participation fees are available only to applicants who meet the conditions specified in the discount announcement, such as teachers, social workers, students or pensioners. Eligibility must be verified during registration by uploading the required documentation.
The Organiser reserves the right to verify eligibility.

  1. Exclusion and Refusal of Participation

The Organiser reserves the right to refuse participation or to exclude a Participant from an event, in particular if, in the Organiser’s assessment, the applicant or Participant:

  • provided false, incomplete or misleading information during registration;
  • demonstrates behaviour that is incompatible with the nature, objectives or spirit of the event, or where such behaviour may reasonably be anticipated;
  • based on conduct at previous events, may jeopardise the smooth running of the event or the physical, mental or emotional safety of other participants;
  • hinders or may hinder the work, safety or cooperation of the organisers, facilitators or other participants;
  • repeatedly disregards the instructions or requests of the organisers during the event; or
  • if any other circumstance arises that may threaten the calm, safe or value-oriented realisation of the event.

Decisions on refusal or exclusion are made by the Organiser on the basis of individual assessment. In such cases, the question of refund shall be decided by the Organiser at its sole discretion, taking into account the circumstances of the case.

  1. Liability and Conduct

Participation in events is voluntary and at the Participant’s own risk. The Organiser shall not be liable for loss of or damage to personal belongings, nor for issues arising from the Participant’s state of health.
Participants are required to follow the organisers’ guidelines during the event and to cooperate respectfully with other participants.

  1. Data Protection

Personal data provided during registration is processed in accordance with the Organiser’s Privacy Policy, available on the website.

  1. Final Provisions

Matters not regulated by these Terms shall be governed by Hungarian law, in particular the provisions of the Hungarian Civil Code.
The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Terms. Amendments shall enter into force upon publication on the website.

  1. Language Clause

In the event of any discrepancy between the Hungarian and English versions of these Terms and Conditions, the Hungarian version shall prevail.
